天天吃瓜 is excited to welcome alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the University to Homecoming 2025, taking place from Sept. 11-13 on the Main Campus and at several off-campus locations.
In previous years, this annual event had been known as NEIU Weekend. This year, the Office of Alumni Relations wanted to rebrand the event and think of it in a new way.
鈥淭he rebrand provides alumni with an invitation to come home to their alma mater and experience the University and its community of students, faculty and staff,鈥 Director of Alumni Relations Michael Zarobe said. 鈥淚t also gives current students a renewed opportunity to participate, connect with alumni and envision an annual tradition of returning to the University after graduating.鈥
The three-day long celebration, themed 鈥淲here it all began,鈥 will include a number of events that are free and open to the public, including an , , fitness fest, alumni art exhibit and Poetry and Pancakes 鈥 which will feature readings of creative works with a side of flapjacks.
鈥淥ur intern has put together a phenomenal script and anyone is welcome to come to our walking history tour,鈥 Associate Director of Alumni Relations Anna Mesa said. 鈥淲e will be serving coffee and pastries. Our group will be able to enjoy the end of the summer weather while also learning more about our campus, including the new Education Building!鈥
There will also be events especially for alumni of the University and their guests, such as a Greek Life Alumni Reunion at Cesar鈥檚 Killer Margaritas, 2924 North Broadway in Chicago and a Wine Down 鈥 hosted by wine aficionado and expert, Assistant Professor of Management and Marketing Robert Cook, Ph.D. 鈥 at Cooper鈥檚 Hawk, 6731 Dempster Street in Morton Grove, Illinois.
鈥淚 hope everyone enjoys the NEIU spirit on campus with Homecoming events,鈥 Assistant Director of Alumni Relations Lauren Lenart-Protor said. 鈥淭here鈥檚 nothing like visiting a place you spent so many formative years and coming back as a new person, seeing how far you鈥檝e come.鈥
