Background

Olga is a Career Development Peer Advisor at Թ, originally from the European side of Russia near the Volga River. She is passionate about empowering students to see the value in their achievements, often saying, “They grow, and I grow, and vice versa.”

Drawing on her own experience as an international student starting from scratch in the U.S., Olga brings deep empathy and understanding to her role. Rather than simply editing resumes, she engages students in meaningful conversations to help them realize that their experiences “are more significant than they initially think.”

Her work is further informed by internships at non-profits and government agencies, which gave her insight into the needs of Chicago communities and how to connect academic knowledge with real-world impact. The most rewarding part of her work is seeing students’ “shiny eyes and smiles,” knowing she’s helped make their path brighter.

Olga’s ultimate goal is to become a university professor in International Relations and Asian Politics, where she hopes to continue inspiring others to “pursue the unknown with courage and adventurousness.”
