Internships and Job Opportunities
An internship is a short term, hands on work experience that connects what you are learning in school with real world practice in your field of interest.
-
Practical Experience
Internships allow you to apply classroom knowledge to real job tasks, giving you a clearer picture of what working in that career is actually like. -
Skill Development
You will build both technical skills related to your major or industry and professional skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving. -
Professional Connections
Internships provide the chance to meet and learn from professionals in your field, which can help with mentorship, references, and future job opportunities. -
Exploration
They give you the opportunity to explore a career path to see if it is the right fit for you before making a long term commitment. -
Compensation
Some internships are paid, while others may be unpaid or offered for academic credit, depending on the employer and industry.
In short, an internship bridges the gap between being a student and becoming a professional. It is one of the most valuable steps you can take toward your career goals.
