American artist and activist , whose work focuses on issues of physical identity, especially in explorations of cultural depictions of disability, will present “Disability & Queer Identity” on Oct. 29 as part of ����Թ�’s second annual Disability Awareness Days. 

����Թ� Assistant Professor of Educational Inquiry and Curriculum Studies Sunni Ali published his third book, “Lessons Learned: Critical Conversation in Hip Hop and Social Justice.” 

����Թ�’s Board of Trustees approved the award of tenure to seven members of the faculty during the April 16 meeting. 

����Թ� President Gloria J. Gibson has announced the creation of the George Floyd Social Justice Scholarship to invest in students who will become community leaders and promote social justice.

����Թ�’s Ronald Williams Library has added newly digitized video footage of the Commission on the Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) hearings to its Japanese American Redress Collection.

The College of Arts and Sciences has made name changes to two departments as well as a major and a minor to highlight new course offerings. Students can continue to register for the New Multicultural Student Orientation sessions and remote Safe Zone Training sessions for faculty begin next week. ����Թ� Assistant Professor of TESOL Ulugbek Nurmukhamedov has co-edited his first book, “New Ways in Teaching with Games.” 

For the past three months, ����Թ�’s buildings have been closed due to COVID-19. Next week, the Student Union will be the first building to reopen to students on the Main Campus with social distancing measures in place.

The Ronald Williams Library expanded its Japanese American Redress Collection, the 2020 Bernard J. Brommel Distinguished Research Professor award was announced, an assistant professor published his third book, and of course we can’t forget about celebrating the spring graduates!
