CHICAGO—Today ����Թ� (NEIU) and Korean American Community Services held a ceremony to mark the beginning of a new formal partnership between the two institutions. Sharon Hahs, president of ����Թ�, and Inchul Choi executive director of Korean American Community Services, ceremoniously signed a partnership agreement at the event held this morning at the Korean American Community Services offices on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

����Թ�'s Commencement is scheduled for 4 p.m. May 12 at Credit Union 1 Arena (formerly UIC Pavilion), 525 S. Racine Ave. in Chicago. Tickets are required. The ceremony will be streamed live at neiu.edu.

This year’s conference will be held from March 7-8, with a special workshop day March 9. It will feature a multimedia exhibit that highlights survivors of the 1972 Burundi genocide.

Durbin, the 47th U.S. Senator from the State of Illinois, will be ����Թ�’s December 2022 Commencement speaker.

����Թ� awarded tenure and promotion to associate professor to nine members of the faculty, effective Aug. 16. 2023. The following faculty members were introduced and approved by the Board of Trustees to receive this promotion during the Board’s April 13, 2023 meeting. 

����Թ� is proud to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month

Based on the guidance of federal, state and local mandates, Northeastern’s Emergency Management Team has updated COVID-19 recommendations.

����Թ� held its second annual President’s Inclusive Excellence and Diversity Awards on April 26 in Alumni Hall on the University’s Main Campus. It was also live streamed at El Centro and the Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS).

Northeastern has selected Psychology major and Mathematical and Statistical Modeling of Complex Systems minor Bianca “Mykee” Vives as its 2023 Lincoln Academy Student Laureate.
