The PPOHA SPEED (Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans - Strengthening Post-baccalaureate Enrollment, Education and Degree Completion) grant is a five-year comprehensive initiative designed to support Hispanic and underrepresented graduate students through a range of academic and career resources.

The SPEED grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Education award no. P031S230039.

Key components include:

  • Research Experience: The SPEED GRAD Research & Career Accelerator Program offers faculty-led interdisciplinary research opportunities, allowing students to gain practical skills while working on real-world projects.
  • Career-Centered Workshops: These workshops, in collaboration with Northeastern’s Career Development Office and external experts, prepare students for professional success through career planning, resume building and more.
  • Tuition Waivers: The SPEED Graduate Tuition Waiver provides financial support to selected students each semester, easing the financial burden and encouraging continued academic success.
  • Faculty Mentorship: Students work closely with faculty mentors who guide them through their research and career development.

SPEED is designed to enhance graduate degree completion rates, fostering professional growth and academic success for Northeastern’s diverse student population.
