Placement Test Registration
All new students can take placement tests online or on campus for free. Placement tests can be completed online or at any of NEIU's campuses.
Sign up to take Placement Tests at Home
to take your tests at home (free). To test remotely, you will need a computer (desktop or laptop) with a webcam and audio capabilities. Within 1-3 business days (longer on weekends and holidays) after filling out the form, you will receive an email with your remote voucher code (from ACCUPLACER with subject line: Remote Voucher Notification).
Once you receive your voucher code, you can create an account with our proctoring partner and schedule your placement tests.
Placement tests are untimed (there is no time limit). Be sure to set aside at least an hour for each test. Learn more information about the test itself and preparation materials.
Sign up to take Placement Tests at NEIU's Campus
and let us know you are coming to either our main (Bryn Mawr) campus, CCICS, or El Centro. Please note the location of our test and arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time with a valid, physical photo ID. No pictures of photo IDs will be accepted.
When and where will you see Placement Test Results?
After finishing the placement test and answering a few background questions, you will see your score and placement on the next screen. You may take a screenshot of your results and/or print them. Your score will be available on NEIUport/NEIUstar within 1-3 business days. Writeplacer essay scores may take 24-48 hours. NEIU Reading and Writing Assessment/Survey results will be available within 5-7 days.
