The Chuck Kane Scholarship Golf Event may look a bit different this year to adhere to health guidelines and precautions, but Northeastern will still gather — virtually and on the greens — to raise funds for students. Read about this and more in the latest edition of Noteworthy at Northeastern. 

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï’s College of Arts and Sciences has changed the name of its Art department to Art + Design and the department, major and minor of Women’s and Gender Studies to Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies beginning in the Fall 2020 semester.

Northeastern senior Natasha Overton has a master plan. She will graduate in 2014 with her heart in arts education and her mind on the future:

2015 – Enter a master’s degree program

2018 – Graduate with a master’s degree

2020 – Return to Northeastern to teach and start a local, comprehensive arts program

While this case study is ongoing, it certainly looks promising—and there are many more where it came from. In the six years since its launch, Northeastern’s is proving to be a valuable and versatile resource for hundreds of students in the science, technology, engineering and math disciplines. The goal is not only to graduate those students, but also to provide them with a holistic preparation for their post-graduation lives, whether that’s in industry, government agency or academia.
