Northeastern, Penn State lead international team of scientists on the largest study on longevity, aging in reptiles and amphibians

At 190 years old, Jonathan the Seychelles giant tortoise recently made for being the “oldest living land animal in the world.” Although anecdotal evidence like this exists that some species of turtles and other ectotherms—or “cold-blooded” animals—live a long time, evidence is spotty and mostly focused on animals living in zoos or a few individuals living in the wild. Now, an international team of 114 scientists, led by Թ and , reports the most comprehensive study of aging and longevity to date comprising data collected in the wild from 107 populations of 77 species of reptiles and amphibians worldwide.

Թ joins Grow with Google’s HSI Career Readiness Program to train 200,000 Latinx students in digital skills by 2025

Թ is once again partnering with Google as it joins the Grow with Google HSI Career Readiness Program. Northeastern is the only four-year institution in the state of Illinois to partner with Google on this initiative, which will help Latinx students at 35 Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) prepare for the workforce through digital skills training and career workshops.

Computer Science junior earns statewide award

Michael Abreu may be only a junior at Թ, but he has already accomplished a great feat. Abreu, a Computer Science major, was recently awarded the presented by the Illinois Technology Foundation.
